Because education is the first path to recovery After years of war that caused widespread destruction to Syria’s education sector, hundreds of thousands of children have been deprived of their basic right to learn. Destroyed schools, overcrowded classrooms, and rising dropout rates threaten the future of an entire generation. This project exists to return children to their classrooms and give them a real opportunity to build a safe and dignified future. An urgent humanitarian crisis Thousands of schools have been damaged or taken out of service. Rising rates of school dropout and child labor. Severe overcrowding in the few remaining schools. Increasing psychological and social risks for children outside the education system. Every day without a school is a day stolen from a child’s future. Project objective To build and rehabilitate safe, well-equipped schools in the most affected areas, ensuring children’s access to quality, equitable, and sustainable education. What do we do? Build new model schools in areas lacking educational infrastructure. Rehabilitate and restore damaged schools and return them to service. Equip schools with classrooms, sanitary facilities, and safe spaces for activities.
